Avondale is fortunate to house a Returned Servicemen Association (RSA).

Each year, the RSA holds an ANZAC Day event, and, where possible, closes the main street for a moving ANZAC Day parade.

​

In 2022, it also celebrated the 100 year birthday of local digger, Doug Reid, with a brochure distributed throughout Avondale.
